Description: Itraglam-200 is a broad-spectrum antifungal medication from the triazole class, used to treat and prevent fungal infections by interfering with the formation of fungal cell membranes. It inhibits the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, preventing the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. This leads to disruption of fungal cell structure and function, ultimately killing or stopping the growth of the fungus. It is used for treatment of dermatophytosis (ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch), onychomycosis (fungal infection of the nails), oral and esophageal candidiasis (thrush), systemic fungal infections like histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, aspergillosis (for patients who cannot use amphotericin B) and sporotrichosis.
